“Friend of Brando….”

Karl Malden…….probably one of the most endearing actors screen has ever produced. Known for his great screen presence in a number of movies and T.V series, his best came from his association with Director Elia Kazan. Two of his finest roles were in A Street Named Desire (1951) and On the Waterfront (1954), where he was pitted against Marlon Brando.

On the Waterfront (1954)

Father Barry: Boys, this is my church! And if you don’t think Christ is down here on the waterfront you’ve got another guess coming!

A Streetcar Named Desire (1951)
Blanche DuBois: Marry me, Mitch.

Mitch: No, I don’t think I want to marry you anymore… No, you’re not clean enough to bring into the house with my mother
